I-7 Interrelationships of the nine Hierarchies

Anthroposophical Studies of the Old Testament (ASOT) Chap. 2 (pp. 16-17; it would have been helpful had the controversial Tomberg identified Steiner sources for these)

Each of the Primal Beings (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is active in each of the three Hierarchies, but one Hierarchy is its chief domain, and one rank in each Hierarchy is its chief agency therein, as follows:

Father
Son
Spirit
1st Hierachy

Seraphim

x
Cherubim

Thrones

2nd Hierarchy

Dominions

3rd Hierachy

This chart helps to clarify the lines of spiritual agency that run through the Hierarchies down to humanity. For example, the Exusiai belong to the Christ (Son) Hierarchy and are moreover the agency of Christ therein. When Christ is said to speak with “authority” (Mt 7,29; Mk 1,22; Lk 4,32), the Greek term used is Exusiai, and this rank is also known as “Authorities.” We know, furthermore, from Table I-6, that the Hebrew term for a member of this rank is “Elohim.” These are the Spirits of Form, of whom Yahweh is one, who are spoken of (in the plural) in the creative (i.e., “formative”) work in Genesis (as in Gen 1,1).
